PRIVACY & YOUR DATA
Your trust matters at the Table.
Stay at the Table collects only the information needed to provide accounts, shared conversations, safety review, requested writing assistance and translation, and updates you choose. It does not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
What is collected
- Your verified email address, which identifies your account and sends sign-in links.
- The display name, language, Christian tradition, visibility, and email choices you save.
- Your table membership, visits needed to keep a seat active, move choices, and messages.
- Private reports, automated safety decisions, translations, and limited operational records needed to prevent abuse and diagnose failures.
- If you use the U.S. representative finder, the street address you enter is used for that lookup and for the letter preview you control; the site does not add it to your account.
How information is used
Information is used to sign you in, place you at a table, show the conversation you are allowed to see, enforce safety and activity rules, translate messages when requested, send selected updates, and maintain the service. Reports and safety records are not displayed publicly.
Supporting services
The site relies on trusted outside services for hosting, account and conversation data, limited safety review, requested writing assistance and translation, and selected email delivery. Each service receives only the information needed to perform its part of the site.
Jesus’ Teachings first looks for relevant topics on your device. If it cannot find a clear local match after you post, the six recent messages visible at your table may receive a limited writing-assistance check that can select only from the site’s reviewed teaching topics. It does not generate words and present them as something Jesus said; every displayed passage comes from the site’s Scripture collection.
When you choose Review or Improve for a draft, the draft and any suggested Scripture candidates are sent to the writing-assistance provider to generate the version you review. The request disables provider response storage; the provider may still retain limited safety records under its own abuse-monitoring rules. Stay at the Table does not add the unpublished draft to your conversation history unless you post it.
The representative finder sends the address you enter to the U.S. Census geocoder, then sends the returned coordinates—not your typed address—to OpenStates to identify public officials. Stay at the Table does not store that lookup. If you use speech dictation, your browser or device provides it and may process speech remotely under its own settings; the site receives the resulting text.
Storage on your device
The site may store the welcome-letter choice, accessibility preferences, private notebook text, and unfinished drafts in your browser. Other people using the same device and browser profile may be able to see locally stored notes or drafts.
Current retention and deletion practice
The conversation normally displays up to seven days of relevant history. Account details, preferences, table memberships, move history, and published messages are kept for account continuity and table history until an account-deletion request is completed. Private reports, safety decisions, and limited delivery or abuse-prevention records are kept only while they remain reasonably necessary for safety, service integrity, legal obligations, or resolving a concern.
This early service does not yet use an automatic time-based deletion job. Deletion requests are reviewed manually so table history, replies, reports, and security records can be handled without exposing another member or breaking the conversation record. You will be told if a limited record must be retained and why.
Your choices
You can turn chat digests and action updates off from your name card or from an unsubscribe link. To request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account data, email adam@stayatthetable.net from the address connected to your account.
